Current employed MLA staff members of NSH/IWK who have not completed their MLA certification exam

Current employed MLA staff members of NSH/IWK who have not completed their MLA certification exam are required to submit an application for an MLA license.

Employees of the NSH/IWK who are currently employed as an MLA and have not completed an MLA certification exam (excluding those in training) will be eligible for licensure under a “grandfather clause.” However, please be advised that certain restrictions will apply. 

Note: All NEW employees as of May 3 2025 will be required to successfully complete an MLA program and the CSMLS or MLPAO entry to practice exam.
