Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technologists

Find a MLT/MLA/CLXT

In protecting the public, NSCMLT takes the issue of falsely representing or practising without a license seriously. The protected title of MLT/MLA/CLXT should not be used at any time unless they are licensed with NSCMLT.

"Active" means licensed to actively engage in the practice of medical laboratory technology in Nova Scotia as a medical laboratory technologist (MLT), medical laboratory assistant (MLA) or combined laboratory and xray technologists (CLXT) and has met the requirements under the NSCMLT act and regulations to practice.

"Provisional" means a license issued to applicants who have conditions and restrictions on their practice imposed by the College to ensure public safety according to the NSCMLT act, regulations and policies.

"Non-Practising" are applicants registered, but are not practising and are not authorized to perform laboratory testing.

"Retired" means an applicant who previously practiced as a licensed MLT/MLA/CLXT,  but is no longer practicing medical laboratory technology.  The title to be used is "MLT Retired non-practicing", "MLA Retired non-practicing", or "CLXT Retired non-practicing",

If the information you're seeking isn't available on the public MLT/MLA/CLXT roster, you can contact the NSCMLT directly at info@nscmlt.org
