Step 3: Self Assessment: Am I Eligible to be a Licensed Medical Laboratory Technologist in Nova Scotia?
Before you apply to the NSCMLT, you need to determine if your education and experience matches the requirements to be a licensed medical laboratory technologist in Nova Scotia. As part of your registration you must write the National Certification Examinations. There are two ways you can be eligible to write the exam:
1. You are a graduate of an accredited MLT educational program. You must complete all diploma requirements before the exam.
OR

These tools are designed to help internationally-educated health professionals understand the requirements for Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) in Canada. The tools describe knowledge, skills and abilities that are expected of Canadian MLTs and provide information to support migration to Canada for those interested in the medical laboratory science field.
